- A big meitheal of men was gathered together in a threshing yard. There was a big crowd of men and one garsún. When the dinner came there was a scarcity of potatoes. An old man asked the garsún did he eat enough. "Oh" said the garsún "all the other men devoured every one of the potatoes and I had not time to get one." "This is my advice to you", said the old man, "when potatoes will be scarce again have one in your mouth, the other in your fist and your eye in another.
