  1. One day a Colonel Galwey was fishing on the banks of the River Blackwater at a place called Foyle Clifford.
    Fealing thirsty he said to Mike O Brien, Monanimy, who accompanied him, come along Mick to the well for a drink of water. As they were nearing the well, the bluish colour of the clay attracted the Colonel's eye and picking up a fistful of the clay "said", look at the colour of this "Gold". he says is not far away. This is what they find out in South Africa when first they go digging for Gold. Colonel Galwey was a Mallow man, a Colonel in the Royal Engineer and also the Seventh Generation in Mallow.
