  1. In my school district there are two old Castles one in Carrigacunna, the other in Monanimy. Of the former I know nothing about as it is situated close to a gentleman's residence and regarded always as private property. With regard to Monanimy I am told it was a religious order known as "The Order of the Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem. This branch of the community were suppressed at one time be some infringement. Close by this castle lies a graveyard which is connected with the castle by an underground passage.
