   For cuts the herb known as Slánlus was invariably used. It was chewed and then applied to the cut.
   Snaidhm na Péiste was a cure very much used about forty years ago. A cow suffering from gripe or worms was cured by this means. A cord having two knots was placed on the affected part, and then when the string was pulled the knots were no longer to be seen. This was repeated five or six times.
   Fairy bells were used to cure sore feet. Those herbs were supposed to have a more beneficial effect if they were got in a fort.
   To cure rheumatism nettles were applied to the affected parts.
