His eldest son inherited his chieftainship and property of Fermoy, and his descendants continued to hold it for the next 500 years. They were finally dispossessed by English adventurers in the time of Cromwell, and the only remaining portion of their inheritance, called Pola Ua Caomh[?], was given by King William III to one of his mercenaries, and anglicised Williamstown, which name is now applied to a village in the district of North Cork.
Cliadhna was a powerful witch or enchantress and put many people under her spell. After a time, however, she lost her wand and was unable to free anybody from the spell of her dark art.
