  1. Potatoes are grown in my farm. About half an acre is sown under potatoes every year. The amount of ground sown under potatoes hardly every varies. My father always prepares the ground.
    There is farmyard manure put on before it is turned up. When the manure is spread the ground is ploughed into ridges There are six sods ploughed for every ridge. There is a furrow between every two ridges.
    Wooden ploughs are not in use now but they were long ago.
    Blacksmiths make some spades while others are made in foundries The bawn drills are made with a single board plough
