   And leave the enemy wailing

   All dread and danger scorning
   And strike a blow at the Saxon foe

   Ho! Ho! On the engines footplate stand
   With pulses proudly beating
   Two men who are keeping a sharp lookout
   For the friendly signal greeting
   And now they see the flashlamps glow
   And give the driver warning
   To stop the train at the proper spot
   Or he would not see the morning
