- Weather Lore
The local beliefs with regard to the weather been good or bad are when hills appear near to us the stars falling a black ring round the moon, the cat to turn his back to the fire, a dog to eat grass or root the ground with his paws, the crane to perch on the ground near water and the swallows to fly low, all those I have mentioned are signs of rain to fall. Also if blue blazes appear in the griosac that is a surer sign than the rest that we will have rain.
I have never heard the locals say anything about woods or lakes as being weather omens. The winds are a great help to the farmers and their crops. The north(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
