Soap-Making.
The old people used to make their own soap. The way they made it was - They used to melt the fat they got from a dead cow or pig.
They put the fat in a pot, and when it was melted, they put washing soda in the pot along with the fat. When the mixture was melted, they then threw common salt into it. The salt separated the water which is contained in the fat from the washing-soda. When the mixture went cold it come to the surface of the water. Then they took it out of the pot and cut it in squares. The colder they got, the harder it got. It was then, ready for use. - (3)
