- About sixty years ago my great grandfather Matthew Harrington lived in Mullinduff. Three nights in succession he dreamed this strange dream. He dreamed that under the head of his bed there was a pan of gold and that it was guarded by a black cat. The only time the cat was absent from the treasure was between the reading of the two masses on Sunday. Any body who was to attempt to get the treasure had to have it got and taken away before the elevation of the host. By that time the cat was to be back at the spot.
If the person was not gone with the treasure by that time he was to be put guarding it. A neighbour dreamed the same three nights in succession also. It was rumoured that somebody went to dig for it but when they thought they touched something like metal they did not interfere with it any more. - You are not logged in, but you are welcome to contribute a transcription anonymously.
