This was supposed to contain a beauty elixir much more enduring than the cosmetics of the present day. The "first dew" collected on the slopes of the Curlews near Boyle was supposed to contain special beautifying qualities.Old witches in the olden days used to take part in the ceremonies of May morning. Their practices were so wicked that the old people of today talk about them only in whispers. They used to get up early of a May morning and steal to the corner of some quiet field, and with a rope in their hands sweep in the dew towards themselves, muttering the words of an old chant, "come all to me"(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
