    When the seed is cut care must be taken that an eye is left in each seed.
    During the summer months care is taken that no weeks are allowed to grow in the potato crop.
    The potatoes are dug out in Autumn by means of a potato digger and are picked from the ground by some helpers. The potatoes are stored in pits or sometimes on lofts.
    The local names given to potatoes are Shamrocks and Irish Queens, and Shamrocks are considered the best type of potato in the district.
    Potatoes were used as starch in former times
