After a short time again they put more water in if there is no sign of the butter coming. Then after a time little round pieces of butter come up over the edge of the lid. The people then say that the milk is cracked. The butter is getting larger all the time on the milk and when it is very big they know that the churning is finished. Some people put a white cloth on the edge of the churn to keep the milk from splashing out. If a neighbour comes in while any one is churning the neighbour(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
