Ar an leathanach seo

  1. Saint Canice was one of the greatest Saints of Ireland. The son of a bard he was born at Glengiven Co. Derry about the year 516. He was educated at the monastery of St. Cadoc in Llancarvan in Wales. He was very religious and was particularly remarkable for his great obedience. Having completed his studies, he was ordained a priest and when about thirty years of age, in the year 546. he went to Rome on a pilgrimage. He converted a great many souls on the journey.
    On his return to Ireland he went to Saint Finian of Clonard. Here he met those Saints with whom his name was to be enrolled as one of the "Twelve Apostles of Erin."
    Before going to Scotland he bent his steps towards the North of Ireland where he converted his foster-brother and his nephew. Saint Canice founded many Churches in Scotland. After a
