In the summertime some of the hens lay out in the ditches.
We have eleven geese and they eayt potatoes and grass. They lay at the end of February and during March. Then the geese are "set" with about fifteen eggs each. A young goose or her eggs are not "set" until the second year. The goose feathers her nest. She has to be "set" where she lays and a goose is fed every second day with corn and water to drink. The hatching takes a month When the goslings are hatched out they get the water to drink mixed with a little Indian meal.- Bailitheoir
