- No people get married in May. It is unlucky. They generally get married on a Wednesday and in the morning early. They get the breakfast at the girl's house and people go to the wedding during the day. Long ago the matches were made in the fairs and markets. Some-times they get married in Dublin and stay for a week for holidays. The bride always has a bridesmaid and the man has a man called the best man to witness the marriage. There is a dance held at night in the girl's house and many friends and neighbours are invited. Many boys dress up and put vizards on their faces and they dance and sing songs for a few hours. This custom is called the "Brideog."(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
