   There is a Gulf in Cloncully. In the olden times there was an eel saw in the Gulf of Cloncully. He used to come out and wind himself up like a wheel. The people often tried to snare him but they could not. A man named Mr,Dooley brought down his horse to the Gulf.After a while the people caught him, but they were not able to draw him. Then the people put the horse to the eel. The horse was not able to draw the eel. Then the eel drew the horse down under the Gulf and he was not sen until a month after. After a while Mr, Dooley went to the fair which was at Banagher to buy a horse. Then he saw two men with his horse. He asked them did they own the horse. Then he said where did ye get the horse. The two men told him when they went out for the cows they saw the horse at the Shannon. The man said that was his horse. Then he said he had a name on the horse. He called the horse by its name, and the horse broke away from the men and Mr, Dooley brought home his horse. Then the eel was never seen after.
