  1. The Cross was of very elegant design, rising from a square basement, to which ascended on each side, six stone steps. The sculptured statues of St. Patrick, St. Ciaran, St. Canice and St. Bridgid were at the points where the gablets diverged. This cross was erected in 1335. It was taken down in 1771 by the Corporation, with the intention of having it re-erected on the Parade,
