Ar an leathanach seo
- Fifty or sixty years ago there were no creameries in Ireland. All the butter was then made in the peoples' houses. No barrel or handle churns were used only the dash churns. The dash churns were made of wood. They were wide at the bottom and top and narrow in the middle.
A person who made these churns was called a cooper. Besides churns a cooper also made wooden tubs and noggins. In this town there is a man who was a cooper in his young days. His name is Pat Beirne and he lives in Chapel Street
A dash was made of two parts the handle and the head. The handle was like any handle of a spade or any other(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
