- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)turns round and round while churning. The butter is made when it gets into a roll. A small quantity of hot water is used in winter, but in summer only cold water is used.Pats are used for taking the butter out of the churn. The butter is then put into a basin and well washed to take the buttermilk out of it. It is then made into rolls for use. The buttermilk is used for making flour and wheaten cakes.
