- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)They tell us that some local man was tampering with the moat one time and he barely escaped a watery grave. He was pulled out of the Canal nearby three times.
- There is a story told by the old people about the King of Leinster who had his Palace at Naas. He had a combat with a great Ulster warrior and was killed by the latter. On the return fo Conall, who was the Kings champion, he was met by the Queen of Leinster and when she saw her husband's dead body, she cried alout and fell dead. This Queen was called Baun and the hazel tree beside the river at Clane is spposed to mark the spot where she was buried in the 1st century. All stories were collected by Mry Gill, Sheila Maguire and Nan Crowe pupils of Rathcoffey NS who received them from old people of their district.
