  1. Churchyard
    There was a Protestant Church in the graveyard at Knockane or Churchtown and the Protestants used to lock the gate leading in to it, so that people had to go a round to cross a low fence and take the coffin over it.
    On several occasions the slates were removed at night from the roof of the Protestant church and taken away. It is supposed it was done by fairies and that is the reason the Tuogh people are called Sheefrees. There was a song in Irish made about it
