James Ryan or "Jimmy the runner" as they call him goes around selling small articles. He travels on foot and he usually goes to fairs. When there is a fair day in a neighbouring town a man by the name of Mr Burke comes there. He sells clothes and many other things and many people go there to buy as he usually has bargains and he is called "cheap John".
