    During the time of Sir William Morris the cross was taken from Uppercourt gate and was placed on the Square, where it now stands. Unfortunately, the foundation alone remains and the only letters discernible are V. X. O. R.
    Over the door of the protestant Church, there is a horseman seated on a horse, and some words in Irish on the stone round the door but I cannot say what they are as I cannot see them to read them.
