  1. There was once a priest named Fr. Connory who was a native of Esker in the parish of Conahy and as he was delicate he stayed at home with his own people. One night as he was travelling late with a man named Pat Henessy they were passing by a gate on the road-side and the priest told Pat if he laid his hand on the priest's shoulder he would show him a ghost. The man did not, and said that some night he might be passing that way and would not have the priest.
