  1. If a person had thrush, a goose was put under a basket for nine days and every morning the beak of the goose was put into the person's mouth and that cured the sickness.
    If a person got burned, ivy leaves were put in a tin and boiled, and then out to the burns and that cured the burns.
    Hot crossbuns were made of spices and flour on Good Friday. People kept these buns for the year and it is said that a tiny piece of that bread would cure a person of any sickness.
    If a person had a toothache in days gone by he chewed a frog's leg until the ache was gone and the tooth troubled him no more.
