  1. A Well
There is a well in Mr Doherty's farm at Gortatlea, which has a cure for children and a cure for fever. There was a woman once who had some ailment and she went three mornings in succession to the well, but when she was coming back the third morning she met a man. This is how the well was formed: the people of some house in Maglass put out their dirty clothes every night, and in the morning they were washed. One night two men watched to see who washed the clothes. They saw a woman, not of this world, washing the clothes. When she saw she was watched she went away. Ther steps got longer every step. Suddenly she disappeared; where she disappeared the well was formed. The well is called Finahave.
