  1. To see Knocknarea clear is a good sign but to see it covered is a bad sign. To hear the birds singing early in the morning is a sure sign of a good day. In or about fifty years ago a thunder storm threw the gable of Tubberunane School and now it is gone altogether. About in the year 1934 a horse owned by Mr Gilgan of Marshrea was killed by lightning, also two cows owned by Mr Tempany Skreen in or about the same year both happened.
