- About three miles from my home there is a place called "The Protestant Fall."
Long ago the Protestants were persecuting the Catholics and they would not allow them to have a light lit after nine oclock. One night a number of them turned out on horseback and met at a certain place. When they were coming near "The Protestant Fall" they sent this boy Murtagh McSharry a Catholic, on to led the way.
When he came to the "fall" he jumped from the horse and hid among the rocks and the others thinking they were right, followed and they were all killed down the "fall.
It was called "The Protestant Fall" ever afterwards. It is in the townland of Lugnagall, and about(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
