The signs of good weather are when the swallows fly high in the air, when the sheep gather together on hills, and when the sun sets red in the evening.
- A ring around the moon is the sign for rain. When there are red stripes through the dark clouds it is the sign of snow. To see a rainbow across "the Gap" on Saturday Evening is the sign of a fine week.
