  1. One morning a man was crossing Beale Strand, when he saw a beautiful-looking lady sitting on a rock combing her hair on the verge of the water. He was amazed at that and thinking she was someone he knew, went towards her. A short distance away from her was a blue bordered cap and on seeing it he picked it up and turned home. The lady followed him to his own house. When he went in he threw the cap up in the loft, but the lady never saw him doing so.
    She lived there for a long time working every day, and she was about to marry the man whom she followed. A few days before the wedding they were cleaning down the house. The man threw down the cap unknown to him. The lady saw it; she took it up and ran out the door and off towards the sea and was never
