    They also wore mantles which were long broad capes which went down to the heels. The capes that were worn were not as long as the mantles, and the were made of black astrachan which they knitted themselves. The bonnets were in style long ago and everyone wore them. Those were flat, round articles which were higher in the front and feathers on the high part.
    The old women always wore bordered caps. Those were caps the shape of the head and a white piped border and a big bow at the side. In olden times from a girl got married she wore a bordered cap.
