- Long ago all the fairs were held in Monivea they consisted of cows, pigs, cattle and especially horses. All the buyers came from all the Counties in North, South, East and West. They were better fairs than the fairs to-day for every single farmer attended. During that time also the people had to pay a man to get into the fairs and the money was used in buying cows, sheep and other stock from the orphanage that was the custom at every fair but now they do not have to pay and they have to have a work house for the orphans and poor people. When they are selling their stock the sellers ask the buyers for such a price they might perhaps disagree then a friend of the seller comes to the rescue and tells them to split the different that it is to give just half more of what the buyer says and half less of what the seller suggests.
