    moon is is said that it is a sign of rain.
    When teh stars are clouded, the sky is streaky, if a rainbow is seen in the north it is said that this is a very bad sign of the weather. When the leaves turn their back to the wind. The west wind brings rain to this district. When the cat turns his back to the fire it is a sign that there will be a storm as well as rain. To see a dog eating grass, when the hills look near, it is said that when the swallows fly low it is said that the atmosphere is too heavy for them , and that it will rain. Anyone who suffers from corns can tell you that always before the rain that their corns pain them .
    If you hear a whistle in the wind, or hear it moaning down the chimney or around the corners of the house it is a sure sign of rain . Usually the flys fly in bundles, and are very numerous near hedges, or on the roads . When you see teh dust rising off the road it is another sign of bad weather. The waters of the lake turns green and seagulls are seen flying around and screaching . If you hear the ducks quacking, they say that they are calling for rain
