- The first of May is supposed to be a superstitious day particularly among the farmers. Farmers' wives will not give milk to a neighbor on May-day neither would they lend their churn, or sweep their kitchen floor out.
If you get up early on May morning and wash your face in the dew you will have a good complexion irrespective of the strong sun.
No one should lend or borrow on May-day because it is unlucky.
