You lovers of high and low station
And gentlemen all of renown
Give ear unto those few verses
I lately have penned down.
In praise of a Fair Maiden
That lately from my bosom
My heart has torn
And she's but a poor farmer's daughter
That lives on the banks of Bunmore.

In order to take the fresh air

I thought she was fairly enchanted
Or Something proceeding from Love -
Or yet that she might be an Angel
That fell from the Heavens above.

I drew near to this Fair Maiden
Saying, "I hope you will tell me your name
Or if you are if the Christian Creation
Pray tell me from whence you have come
For I am a man of great title(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
