He could take a 2 cut bag of oats with one hand and swing it over his head without any trouble. Outside his home now can be seen the weight he used to throw.- Spinning, weaving and carding were some of the occupations to be found in those days, even to the colouring of theflannel there was a colouring pot in every household. Flax weaving was also to be seen, linen sheets, tablecloths etc, for the use of the household.
