- Friday is looked upon as being the lucky day of the week and nearly every bit of important work is begun on that day. If people want to change into a new house or begin to build one they always do so on a Friday. If they want to set a clutch of eggs they do it on Friday. They begin to sow crops on that day.
For planting a crop like onions it was considered right formerly to sow them on "the shortest day and pull them on the longest."
The weather on Friday is a guide to that for Sunday -- "Wet Friday, Wet Sunday" is an old saying.- Informant
