  1. One night my father was telling me stories. Here is one which he told me. It happened over in Clonmany. Two boys were very great with each other. One day the two of them went out through Fanad rocks gathering black shells. One of the boys came home but the other boy did not.
    The boy's father and mother were very troubled about their son. They asked the boy where was the other son. He said that both of them parted at a rock and that they were to meet at the same rock again but he never came back.
    The boy that came home went to America. Years and years passed. Then he came home when he was an old man of seventy years of age. During the time he was away some of the people belonging to the boy who was lost were still thinking what could have happened to him. One day his brother was walking along the shore. He found a very nice piece of bone which would be the right size for shafting a knife. This boy was very handy. That evening when he went home he shafted a knife with the bone. When the man came home these people invited him for a day. They gave him tea. Other men were taking tea also. When the table was set the man who came from America got the knife which was shafted.
