  1. In olden times the priests had to go on sick calls by jaunting cars.
    Once upon a time a priest had to go on a sick call to John Doherty's house in Leiter.
    While he was there a messenger came from Glengad, telling him that a boy was at the point of death. The priest hurried off as fast as he could.
    When he had the patient anointed he drove his grey mare at the usual pace until he came to Coolkenny N.S.
    There the mare stopped and would not pass the school gate.
    The priest though much alarmed jumped from his seat and examined the mare. Finding that the harness was all right he went back to his seat. No sooner had he done so than a man dressed in fine clothes
