  1. The Local Forge
The forge I know is a Rogerstown, Rush. The owner's name is Thomes Langan and he is the blacksmith. His father Patrick Langan was a blacksmith also, but when he retired Thomas his son succeeded him. the forge is an old building situated near the sea. A small stream flows close by. The forge is a very interesting place inside. There is one large fireplace which is generally burning. The greatest attraction of all is the big bellows. The implements he uses are the anvil, sledge, hammer, longs and pincers. In his forge he also keeps a bath of water and a heap of scrap iron. The horseshoes hang on the walls. The blacksmith shoes horses and asses. He does not make farming implements but he repairs them.
It is believed that there is a cure for works in forge water
