  1. The greatest storm ever remembered occurred in 1865. It was so bad that the wind blew the roofs off the houses at that time were thatched and all the straw was blown off the roof. People were afraid to go out for fear they would be hit with slate.
    About they year 1834 there was another severe storm. Buses could travel with the trees that were knocked down. The sea was so high that it reached up over the banks. The men had to buy more hay because all the hay so badly damaged that it was unfit for use.
