Among the many interesting remains of the historic past at Bremore Cemetery, are the ruins of St. Molaga's 6th century monastery, which was known as "Lann Becher" - the House of the Bee-Man", from the fact that the saintly founder promoted the culture in the district. You can see a stone within walls of old Church, which seems to have formed an arching for Castle doorway - bearing date 1689. There is also another old stone with Arms of Burifords, Howth, and Barnewall. Bremore Cemetery is now disused. Some of the very old residents remember burials taking place there about forty years ago. It is now a mass of weeds. None of these grave yards are round. The old one in Balscadden is nearly round. Balrothery is on a hill, and is only used, as is Balscadden, by the very old families of the town and district.
