    and then if there is anyone named Bridget she goes out and when she comes to the door the other say "You are welcome dear Bridget". When the poundies are eaten the rush-crosses are made and hung up until that night twelve months.
    On St Patrick's Day the people used to come to Doe chapel with a band and come playing in the morning mass. When mass would be over they would play one round the chapel.
    On St John's Night people from this district make it a habit to light a bonfire on that night. They gather old withered whins and old thatch that comes off and about ten o'clock they light it and there are glares of fires to be seen every place
