- The people of Ireland have different games from the people of other countries. The pastimes of the Irish boys are very numerous. Playing marbles is a favourite game with all boys. It can be played in three ways. 1. by making a ring and drawing a line across the middle of it and putting the marbles on that line each boy has his own one. If the player is lucky enough to knock a marble out of the ring it is his own and he is given another chance. 2. One player lays down his marble and if his opponent hits it three times it is his own. 3.
