- Barretts came and blinded the Lynotts at Carn. Some of the Barretts remained at Carn. One blind Lynott and his son lived at Leath Árdan. The son was trained to fight "like an eagle in the air and a salmon in the water".
They resolved to return to carn to revenge themselves on the Barretts.
They met McWilliam a chieftain near Crossmolina who asked young Lynott to stay with him and train his son to fight. He refused.
They came to Carn and killed some of the Barretts. They went then towards the Glen. They were overtaken by th Barretts at Fiodan Caol Uirr [?] na sac in Athy's land and young Lynott was killed. There is a stone there yet with blood on it.
A messenger went with an account of the boy's death to the father's(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
