  1. John Lyons was a good jumper. He could jump fourteen feet in a flat jump and seven feet in a high jump. He was a son of Tom Lyons and was born in Lisgorman. He is in America now. He was about twenty-two years of age then. Pat Groarke and John Hall, neighbours, held the rope. My father told me this story.
