    Never let a man light his pipe and go out with it kindled while churning.
    If anyone comes in during the churning they have to take the churndash for fear they would steal the butter.
    When churning the old people used to take a little of the unsalted butter on the thumb and fasten it to the kitchen wall - some say to prevent any disease that the disease would stick to the butter.
    It isn't right to give milk sway while making a churning.
    It isn't right to give away any of the first churning.
    It is not right to give away any of the buttermilk until the churn is blessed.
