A family of the Phillips's lived in Carracastle where Mr Pat Feeney is living now about one hundred years ago. One day a mearal of men came to them to do the work. Too many came so the work was finished early. Nine of the men went down to the back of Mr Devines house and dig round a rock that was in there to see how far it went down. When they got down about nine feet they came to the bottom of the rock, two black pigs jumped up. They were not pigs but there were more like them than any other wild animal in Ireland.
