- There is an old well near my house and it is called "Ballintobar" or in Irish "Baile an Tobar".
It was a blessed well long ago or about twenty years ago. Hundreds of people were cured at this well but the cure was lost in later years. This is how it was lost :
One day a poor beggar woman was going along the road. Her feet were very sore and she came to this well on the side of the road. She thought that it was an ordinary well and she sat down and washed her feet. The moment she had done so a strange thing happened. The well sprang up and pumped across to the other side of the road. It is said that the cure was lost from that day on.
